At the Kirkjan cave in Dimmuborgir, Iceland.

James Atkins

Hello! I am an Economics PhD student at Northwestern University.

I recently graduated from Bocconi University, Milan, where I studied for a master's degree in Economic and Social Sciences. I gained my bachelor's degree, also in economics, from the University of Cambridge. I am interested in industrial organisation, especially in the area of auctions and digital markets, and the use of computational methods in economics.

Between my bachelor's and master's, I worked at a London-based economic consultancy where I supported bidders and auctioneers in high-value auctions. I implemented winner determination software for spectrum auctions in the UK and Ireland, and developed tools to assist bidders in spectrum and media rights auctions in Saudi Arabia and India.
